Multi-channel Marketing

The task was to collect some information about the different type of people who have access to Netflix. It is important to collect this information because collecting this data allows us to store and analyze important information about existing and potential customers. Collecting this information can also save my company money by building a database of customers for future marketing and retargeting efforts. Having this information also gives me an idea of what kind of people are watching Netflix; which then lets me know what kind of films and tv shows I can add on to the site based on the gender and age of the users.



Netflix Gender and Age Breakdown




This information lets me know what percentage of the users are male and female. It also tells me the ages of the users. This information is useful because it lets us know what type of people are using Netflix, that way, they know what type of shows/films they need to put on to cater their target audience.


Netflix subscribers by the years

This information shows how many subscriber Netflix has had throghout the years. The highest in 2021 as that was peak of corona.

This shows what the most popular steaming service is with both male and female. As you can see, Netflix is in second place being beaten by channel 4. But this information shows that Netflix is pretty popular with both genders.







Millenials

As you can see, thus is the top 5 most popular streaming services with the millenials (1981 – 1996). You can see that Netflix is at number 2 whilst Channel 4 is number 1. Netflix has 97% in fame in 77% in popularity.









Gen X

You can see that Netflix this the most popular streaming service for Gen X (1965 – 1980). It has 99% of fame and 78% in popularity.









Baby Bommers

As you can see, Netflix is not as popular as the younger generations. Netflix is actually the 12th most popular streaming service with baby boomers (1946 and 1964).










Men

From this information, you can see that Netflix is in the top 5 streaming services for men but is in the middle at number 3.

Prior to the release of Disney+, Netflix paid $300 million to stream Disney’s content

- Netflix paid $300 million to stream Disney content. Netflix still maintains rights to some of Disney’s most popular content for a few several years.


TV shows accounted for 82 percent of Netflix’s top-rated original content in 2019

- Netflix pours large amounts of money into the number and quality of its serials and it shows in numbers. While the service had 35 original titles earn a “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes in 2019, 82 percent (29) of those were serials.










34 million viewers tuned in to watch ‘Tiger King’ in its first 10 days

- Netflix’s murder documentary Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness had up to 34 million viewers in the first 10 days of it's release.


Netflix is willing to spend $20 million per hour of original content

- The company is in the streaming wars to win it, and it’s putting its money where its digital mouth is.
